Lids4Kids-Warmer Communities

Since 2016, this group of volunteers has been knitting, crocheting, and sewing warm wear for an annual donation to not-for-profit organizations in our Ontario, Canada communities.

To date, we have created & donated over 2000 hats, scarves, and mittens! Some recipient groups have been the Kanata Food Cupboard, Kingston Shoebox Project, Ottawa Mission, St. Luke’s Table, The Well, Kingston Hmne Base Housing and Payukotanyo Family Services.

If you would like to contribute by creating warm wear for the annual autumn collection, all are welcome!

FAQ

We are knitters, crochet-ers and seamstresses with a passionate hobby and a desire to help support our communities.

We create warm wear (hats, scarves, mittens, neck-warmers, etc.) For me, knitting is my meditative relaxation practice that I take everywhere with me. I love creating beautiful pieces from scraps of yarn and I also, love providing someone in need with a handmade item to keep them warm.
